The inaugural race to the National Player of the Year will be decided this week.
The selection committee will be crunching numbers though all the stat sheets from this year's games, and compiling a points system. We will divide the homeschool teams along the 2 separate divisions and award a sliding scale of points for each of the 5 categories:
  • Passing yards per game
  • Rushing yards per game
  • Receiving yards per game
  • Total yards per game
  • Total points scored per game
The top ten athletes in each of these 5 categories will be awarded between 10 and 100 points for each category.

We will then add up points earned by each athlete in all 5 categories and post their score on our final national chart. The winners will be announced via our website and reposted on Facebook & Twitter. Press releases will be posted for redistribution to local and national media. The coach will be sent a digital certificate for presentation.
The deadline to post all game stats is Wednesday, Nov. 13th, at 10:00am, CST.  A player must have all his game stats posted on Maxpreps, by game, by that deadline.  We must protect the integrity of the numbers, by insisting that all stats be public record on Maxpreps and verifiable to past opponents. Omitting the stats of a disappointing game will unfairly skew the results and will be grounds for a player being disregarded in the final charts.

All coaches and statisticians are urged to participate and help your athletes get their Maxpreps profiles ready for college recruiters to review. Your players have been loyal and committed to the team. It's only right that the team returns that loyalty and recognize the hard work of the athletes.  Currently, several top athletes are still disqualified until their team's missing game stats are posted.
